Public Companies – Impulse Generators for Private Industry?
The integrity requirements of public companies are particularly high, and yet these companies – if media reports are to be believed –- are also especially prone to compliance violations. This makes it highly necessary to pursue an active and innovative policy of prevention and discovery of infringements.
In a keynote talk, Chief Compliance Officer Martin Schwarzbartl will begin the seminar by introducing the broad content and numerous instruments of the compliance management system in place at the ÖBB Group. The central points will, of course, also include approaches to dealing with the new anticorruption regulations, the interfaces between the legal department and central purchasing, the establishment of informer systems and many other topical subjects. The seminar will then elaborate on what companies in the private sector can learn from public companies and why dealings with companies in the public sector have to be undertaken with particular sensitivity so as not to violate legal provisions and/or internal rules of such companies. The early bird event will conclude with a presentation of the compliance e-learning tool "Korruptionsprävention" by digital spirit, the market leader in this field in the German-speaking region.
