He began his career in 1996 as an associate with Binder Grösswang and has been Counsel since 2005. Hellmut received his doctorale degree from the University of Innsbruck (Dr. iur.) in 1997 and obtained a postgraduate degree (LL.M.) from Tulane University in New Orleans, USA, in 1999.

Hellmut publishes regularly on current legal issues and is a lecturer on IP issues.
