Binder Grösswang appoints one partner and two counsels
As of 1 February 2019, the international commercial law firm BINDER GRÖSSWANG will appoint a new partner. Moreover, two attorneys will be promoted to counsel.

Christian Zwick will be joining the ranks of partners on the Corporate / M&A Team of the firm as from 1 February 2019
The 34-year old lawyer has supported prominent clients of Binder Grösswang in issues of corporate and civil law for years. Moreover, he has worked on national and international corporate transactions, company formations and restructurings. Very recently, he worked for the French company Veolia Environnement S.A. in the context of founding the “Wastebox” joint venture with Austria’s Saubermacher Dienstleistungs AG; the JV is seeking to establish an app-based waste disposal solution in several European countries. He also acted as an adviser to IONITY GmbH upon market entry in Austria; the joint venture of auto manufacturers BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company as well as Volkswagen Group, was formed to operate high-power charging stations along Austrian motorways. He is also an adviser to several start-up companies and new players, including zuulu, a fintech start-up offering payment service solutions in Africa (primarily in Senegal).
His areas of expertise cover corporate law and M&A, restructuring, company law & civil law with a commercial focus, private foundation law and inheritance law.
Christian Zwick is a graduate of Vienna University (Dr. iur. 2010) and Duke University, NC, USA (LL.M. 2010) and has worked for BINDER since 2010, first as a candidate attorney and later as an attorney-at-law.
Counsel
Stefan Frank (38) primarily acts as an adviser to clients in the financial services sector after having gained more than ten years of experience in advising credit institutions, payment and digital currency institutions, investment firms, fund managers and insurers. Apart from this, he also worked in-house for the Raiffeisen-Holding credit institution group of Lower Austria and Vienna in the implementation of Basel III.
In his capacity as counsel on the Banking & Finance Team, Stefan Frank will support Austrian and international clients in all matters concerning the approval proceedings for the licensing and restructuring of credit and financial institutions, compliance policies and investment fund registration, investment fund distribution, cross-border insurance sales and penal administrative proceedings before the Financial Markets Authority.
Stefan Frank is a graduate of Vienna University (Dr. iur. 2009)
and of the University of the Pacific (LL.M. 2008).
Robert Wippel (32) is an attorney-at-law specialising in banking and loan agreement law; he has worked for BINDER GRÖSSWANG since 2014. The focus of his activities is on corporate and acquisition financing, real estate and project funding and advisory services regarding banking law. Before joining BINDER GRÖSSWANG, Robert Wippel worked with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and as a research assistant with Vienna University.
Robert Wippel studied at the Universities of Vienna and St. Gallen, Switzerland, earning his doctoral degree in 2012 with a thesis on banking law.
