IFLR Europe Award 2020: Binder Grösswang is “Austrian Law Firm of the Year”
Binder Grösswang has once again been honoured with the IFLR Europe Award “Austrian Law Firm of the Year” (national winner), one of the most important awards for commercial law firms operating internationally. The market-leading financial law publication International Financial Law Review (IFLR) honours law firms for the most innovative cross-border transactions in Europe in the previous year. A determining factor in selecting the award winners is the introduction of trendsetting solutions that impact the market and set new standards.
Impressive innovative solutions were identified in the transactions advised upon by Binder Grösswang during the past year, in particular the firm’s counsel of Emirates NBD Bank PJSC on the acquisition of the DenizBank Group, as well as the exemplary implementation of a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), a British restructuring tool, by means of which the long-term financial restructuring of the Steinhoff Group became legally effective. Another deal that was pivotal in IFLR’s decision to give this year’s award to Binder Grösswang was Gilde Buy Out Partners’ sale of Powerlines Group to Engie Ineo.
Binder Grösswang Managing Partner Andreas Hable is highly gratified that Binder Grösswang has, as repeatedly in the past, been honoured with this prestigious award: “We appreciate the fact that the achievements of our highly specialized team have once again been recognized and we are aware that our success is based, not least, on the trust of our clients,” he said.
This year the IFLR Europe Awards presentation ceremony has been cancelled due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 coronavirus. The prize winners were announced online on 23 April 2020.
