Philipp Kapl: A New Partner at Binder Grösswang
Philipp Kapl (34) will become partner at Binder Grösswang on 1 February 2020. Philipp Kapl is a member of the firm’s corporate/M&A team. An expert on M&A transactions and corporate law, he has been with Binder Grösswang since 2015 and primarily advises companies and entrepreneurs on domestic and cross-border M&A-transactions, corporate restructurings and joint ventures.
“Philipp has impressed us with his excellent work and personal commitment. We are pleased that he will continue to support our clients in the future,” says Managing Partner Michael Kutschera.
Most recently, Philipp Kapl advised Indorama Ventures on the acquisition of all shares in Schoeller, VTG on the sale of ca. 4,400 railcars, and SNAM on the acquisition of 49 % in the Austrian gas pipeline operator Gas Connect Austria, among others.
In 2018/2019, Philipp Kapl spent one year as a visiting associate at the London office of Cravath, Swaine & Moore. Prior to joining Binder Grösswang, he had worked at an international law firm in Vienna, at Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan in London, and at Temasek Holdings / TMS in Singapore.
Philipp Kapl received his doctorate in law from the University of Graz in 2010, and in 2011 obtained M.A. degrees in the fields of international relations and economics as a Fulbright scholar at Syracuse University in the United States.
The appointment of an additional partner shows the importance that Binder Grösswang places on promoting lawyers from within its own ranks and offering them attractive career opportunities.
