With rapidly developing new technologies such as artificial intelligence, which pose various challenges and must be implemented in accordance with the legal framework, a sound technical understanding is just as crucial as legal expertise.
Only through the close combination of technological know-how, legal expertise, and comprehensive industry knowledge can opportunities and risks be realistically assessed and legally compliant, practice-oriented solutions be developed. The introduction of AI-based business models and the use of AI in companies bring with them not only a wide range of opportunities but also complex legal issues relating to data protection, copyright, liability, intellectual property, and labor law, as well as the requirements of the EU AI Act.
To keep our finger on the pulse in this area, we have been working closely with the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (CAIML) at the Vienna University of Technology since 2024. The aim of this collaboration is to closely link legal issues surrounding AI solutions and AI technologies with current technical advances, to gain a first-hand understanding of the dynamics of AI research, and to address these challenges together from both a technical and legal perspective.
At the same time, we have further developed our internal work processes with the company-wide introduction of the AI tool “James”. The system supports routine tasks, increases efficiency, and creates space for what is essential: personal support for our clients and sound legal advice.
Our goal is to create legal clarity so that artificial intelligence can be used safely, efficiently, and profitably—both in existing structures and in innovative, AI-based business models.
