Angelika Pallwein-​Prettner is a partner in the firm's Employment Law Team and has extensive experience in representing national and international employers in all fields of employment and labour law as well as in employment related court and administrative proceedings. Furthermore, she specialises in advising on data protection compliance and represents clients in proceedings before the data protection authority.

She started her career in 2005 as an associate at Binder Grösswang and was appointed Partner in 2015. She received her PhD from the University of Vienna (Dr. iur.) in 2004 and her postgraduate degree from New York University (LL.M.) in 2007. Angelika co-authored and published Austria’s first textbook on the GDPR which was recently released in a third edition (Jahnel/Pallwein-Prettner, Datenschutzrecht, published by facultas Verlag).

She is a member of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA), the IBA (International Bar Association) and IT-law.

  • Advising employers in employment lawsuits, in particular with regard to damages claims against former executives and key personnel as well as proceedings against employees with special termination protection, challenge of works council elections, TUPE-cases

  • Advice in connection with the revision and optimization of working time schemes including implementation of shift plans and representation in the proceedings before the competent arbitration body
  • Representation of clients in administrative criminal proceedings in connection with violations of employee protection provisions (in particular violations of working time rules, employee safety)
  • Advice and representation in connection with workforce reduction and social plans
  • Representation in connection with proceedings before the data protection authorities in particular regarding the implementation of whistleblowing hotlines, SAP solutions or video surveillance
