Thomas Stiglbauer is a counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Team. With his several years of experience, he advises institutional investors, financial entities, real estate developers and global companies on all aspects of real estate.

Thomas started his career as research and teaching assistant at the department of Civil Law of the University of Vienna. He then began the legal profession at a major international law firm in 2015 and joined Binder Grösswang in 2024. He studied law at the University of Vienna (Mag. iur. 2010) and obtained his postgraduate degree at the Queen Mary University of London (LL.M., with distinction) with a focus on “Corporate and Commercial Law” in 2019. Thomas regularly publishes on current civil law and civil procedural law issues.

  • Advising on the sale of two property holdings (owning the corporate headquarters of an institutional investor) with a transaction volume of more than EUR 300 million
  • Advising on the acquisition of one of Austria's largest hotels as well as ongoing advice on matters with the hotel operator, the property management and the co-investor
  • Advising on the purchase of “DC Tower 3” and dispute resolution following the interruption of construction works due to the outbreak of the COVID pandemic
  • Advising a Luxembourg fund on the purchase of two luxury hotels in Vienna and their sale several years later, including dispute resolution relating to an unlawfully exercised repurchase right and the recovery of a down payment after a failed sale attempt
  • Advising several luxury fashion goods brands on the leasing of prestigious locations in prime city centre locations in Vienna
  • Advising a sporting goods retailer on the orderly liquidation, in particular the termination of the lease agreements for the shops in various shopping centres
